The Old Gods
Locked deep in the murky depths of the Wrath-Woods is a small logging village by the name of Lantern Town. Its people are modest and hard working and often reclusive to outsiders. They are over-seen by the Council of the Oak, and the mysterious Wood-Walkers. The townsfolk are often seen as superstitious, thought to be a result of their intense isolation. They worship wood spirits and The Old Forest Gods like the ancient Elves, and many believe in a strange being simply called; The Lady of Lanterns. The lady is said to be tall and unearthly beautiful, with ebony black skin and flowing white robes, she carries a lamp that exudes soft white light that burns the flesh of evil beings and heals the innocent and good. Although many outsiders dismiss her existence as a falsehood, every Lantern-Towner keeps a lantern above their thresh-hold.
