The Old Gods
A huge egg-shaped earthen chamber shaped by aeons of earthquakes and mining. This cavern is as large enough to hold the Dwarven city of Iron-Root. The city is built on every surface, even climbing the cavern walls and ascending the caverns central support, a mile high pillar. The industrious dwarves have built up the pillar and even across the cavern ceiling to an extent. Floating earth-nodes house mushroom farms and the houses of wealthy and noble dwarves. The central pillar known simply as ‘The Stalag’, was said to have once been a separate stalactite and stalagmite, when the stalactite threatened to fall and crush the city below, the Jarl Drark held the falling stone above his head with his bare hands, and held it there for years to come, he eventually fossilised and the Stalag formed around him, and he became known as The Stone King, part dwarf, part god. He is worshipped by almost everyone in the city. He is hated by goblins for his long campaigns against them and for beheading Thurg the Hobgoblin Emperor in battle.
